Healthy Roots Therapeutic Chef Services provides customized nutritious meals to anyone who is interested in improving their diet and maintaining optimal health. Chef Kevin Bressani specializes in working with clients with special dietary needs such as pregnant and nursing women and those recovering from illness and disorders such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, HIV/Aids, autism, MS, ADD/ADHD, and digestive disorders.

Food is a powerful medicine and a vital component in the recovery process. Health and well being can drastically be improved by incorporating whole, organic healing foods into the diet. Studies show that disease thrives in an acidic environment. Fruits and vegetables contain micro-nutrients in the form of vitamins and minerals that help balance the natural pH level of the body therefore enabling it to remain healthy and strong. Therapeutic foods such as lacto -fermented vegetables, bone broths, flax seeds and various herbs and spices are just a few examples of foods that Chef Kevin uses to promote healthy digestion. Protein is also a fundamental part of the diet and is essential in restoring the immune system. It is important to include ample amounts of organic protein in the diet from either animal or vegetable sources.

This "Eating For Health Model" was designed by Edward Bauman, Phd, founder of Bauman College School of Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts. It shows the important balance of protein, carbohydrates, and fat in the diet. A well balanced diet, free of processed foods, ensures a healthy functioning immune system which helps the body repair. This model is used by Chef Kevin as a guide to help maintain proper nutrition and optimal health.
